During the screwing process, oxygen escapes from the equation resulting in the solidification of the bond. This process is also termed as "galling".
The fasteners that are used in the industrial applications follow 3 main sizing standards. They are; ISO (the International Organization for Standards), SAE (the Society of Automotive Engineers) and ATSM (the American Society for Testing and Materials). These three US organisations have their own set methods of manufacturing and measuring the fasteners used in the various industries. All these three are best for the end users, but are used in the varied applications in the industry.
